Anti-corruption is an everyone issue. Across all corners of the country, you will be hard-pressed to find a single voter that wants more money in politics, loves Congressional stock trading, and is overjoyed when their former Senator becomes an industry lobbyist. That is why the Political Integrity Pledge is good electoral politics.
While money can buy many things - ads, mailers, yard signs, and consultants - corporate checks and tens of millions of dollars in outside spending cannot buy a movement.
Minnesota, Connecticut, and Wisconsin just proved that yet again.
In Connecticut, Luke Bronin took the Political Integrity Pledge and defeated long-time incumbent Rep. John Larson who gets an F on the Integrity Index.
In Wisconsin, Mitchell Berman took the Political Integrity Pledge and will go on to challenge Rep. Bryan Steil who gets an F on the Integrity Index.
In Minnesota’s House races, Jake Johnson, Matt Little, and Ilhan Omar all took the Political Integrity Pledge and will be headed to the general in November.
And finally, in Minnesota’s Senate race, Peggy Flanagan took the Political Integrity Pledge and overcame $20,000,000+ in dark money spending to defeat Rep. Angie Craig, another F-rated member, by 20 points.
This isn’t the first time this year the many has beat the money and it surely won’t be the last.
In Michigan, $70,000,000 in AIPAC and dark money spending could not stop Abdul El-Sayed
In Illinois, $10,000,000 in crypto industry spending could not stop Juliana Stratton.
And big money is not going to be able to stop us in November.
